When the dog came back at the end. Old ladies like that need their dogs. It's the only friend they have. And dogs shouldn't be shot with .45s. They should be given treats and petted.

God, I hated that moment. One of the rare times that last scene totally ruins film for me

The ending of Lars von Trier's film "Dogville" (2003) also had Nicole Kidman's character spare the life of the dog at the end, wonder if it was influenced by this film.

I completely agree. No matter how many times I watch MS 45 and it’s grim subject matter, it always leaves me smiling. 👍

Just saw it for the first time today, and ... she couldn't kill the dog, just men. LOL.
