Spoiler!!!
Saw the film about 1982, I think Susan Anspach's character ends up poisoning her family at the end. Some interesting and off the wall stuff, like the guy w/ a knife in his head that is riding around in a car w/ Susan and friends...and of course the remote controlled tank...Somewhat pointless except one sees Susan's character basically "go south" through the film, and reject pretty much everything, i.e. nihilism?

I just came across the end of it, when she arrives at the Zanzi-Bar. I want to know, did she kill that young guy at the end?

I didn't think about it a lot as a who-done-it but she seemed pretty unpredictable and out of control. The whole story is unpredictable partly because we can't see what her intentions are but especially so when she winds up out of her own context. That quality is one of the things I liked best about it. The other, and this is true also in the only other Makavejev film I've seen, Coca Cola Kid, the sex is much more delightful than in most movies. But that also causes the dark aspects of Montenegro to be even more surprising.

"WR Mysteries of the Organism", Makavejev's previous art-house hit, is concerned with the links between sexual repression and violence, which would seem to link it with this in some respects.

It's quite a lot more 'way out' as a film, in a number of aspects.

I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.
