Dabney Coleman does Dr. Phil to a T.

I know this movie superseded the career of Dr. Phil, but the coincidentally similar caricature is so damned funny and on the spot, you can't help but look at Dr. Phil askew regarding his silly egotistic posturing and Polonius-like sermonizing. But the collateral similarity in their physical attributes is hilariously apparent, like a Mad Magazine cartoon that slightly exaggerates the most ludicrous qualities of its victim for maximum comedic effect. That Dabney Coleman is a very funny cat.

I make the comparison, but too few people saw or remember "Modern Problems" well enough to get the joke.

Of course, Dabney Coleman from the eighties would be the perfect fit for the role of Dr. Phil!
