a very creepy, spooky movie

It was the early 80's when i saw this on tv. It was spooky, creepy, scary, or whatever you wanna call it. Both Mary from "Little House on the Prairie" (played by Melissa Sue Anderson) and Erin from "The Waltons" (Played by Mary Beth McDonough) are in it. Those shows were all about family, and the characters who were portrayed by both Melissa Sue and Mary Beth were very Christian, good girl types. In this movie, the actresses are portraying witches. Melissa plays Vivian, who is a satanic witch, and will stop at nothing to get her way, even using spells and powers to murder people. Robin is played by Mary Beth. She realizes she has powers too, but she is a good witch. They both fight over Dave, who was Vivian's boyfriend until Robin came to town. The pentagram and altar in Vivian's closet is quite evil looking, with that baphomet looking as evil as ever. The whole vibe is chilling, for that midnight hour when you wanna just lock all your doors, turn out all the lights, sit back and watch a horror movie. This movie was more evil than "The Craft", even though it was a tv movie. The way Vivian chanted her spells really seemed genuine. I am no expert on the field of the black arts, but it seems genuine enough to capture the scary nature of the movie. I have it on video tape. One of these days, i'll attempt to use my pc and video capture device to convert it to a DVD.

What's really creepy is that after his wife and daughter died, the Maytag repairman went on to molest Arnold's friend Dudley.

I remember seeing when it was first televised - back in those days, made-for-tv horror movies were great: Salem's Lot, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Don't Go to Sleep. Melissa Sue Anderson is an outstanding actress who plays a credible role as a witch. I never tire of watching this movie.

Me either. It's essential October viewing. I thought Marion Ross was great as the elder witch too.

Bruce Lee was real. Batman was never real.

I didn't like The Craft, but I love this movie.
It's available on PirateBay in decent quality.

Vivian and her altar are creepy. She got through incantations in Latin well. Really good performance by the actress who played her mother I thought.

That's Cathryn Damon from "Soap" as her mother.

This is a very entertaining chiller, rich in atmosphere. I'd like to see a better copy than the version I just watched on YouTube. For now, I'm giving this 7/10 stars..

I haven't got round to watching repeats of 'Soap' yet. This is the only thing that I've seen Cathryn Damon in. I was sad to see on her IMDb page that she died when she was only 56.

It is indeed very tragic that Cathryn Damon died so young. I very much enjoyed "Soap," though like a lot of shows it started a lot more strongly than it ended. She was excellent on the series, but she seemed to make only sporadic television appearances afterward. I don't know whether this was because of her health, but regardless, she left her mark on me.
