Terrible roads in Pittsburgh

I've watched this film a number of times since the early 1990s, but have never noticed before what terrible condition the roads in this film are in...full of cracks and potholes...it becomes quite distracting once you pick up on it, the impression you get is that if the Satanists and Zombies don't get you in Pittsburgh, the roads will finish you off. Have they improved any since this film was made?

No wonder that mad family are so strong in their belief in the devil, the condition of the roads give the impression a gateway to hell isn't far from opening.
