Marva Collins Chicago Public School

Marva Collins was my 7th grade language arts teacher and my favorite teacher of all time. The school that I went to when she taught us was West Garfield Park Upper Grade Center. I'll never, ever forget her. She was so passionate and different that any teacher I had ever remembered. She taught us to never, ever say can't and made us believe that we could learn. And, most importantly of all, there is no such thing as a slow student. I've tried and tried to contact her, but to no avail. I'm almost 60 now, but would give almost anything to see her.
