Animal Cruelty Free Dvd?

Is there a release of this film without the animal killings or a feature where you can turn the animal killings off (ala Cannibal Holocaust)

Aww. I still want all the fake gore, but I don't want to see any animals get killed for real.

daedalus1337 can go screw a cow.

I hate Hostel and just about every other popcorn horror flick to be made after 1997. Hellraiser, Cannibal Apocolypse, Psycho, and Braindead are amoung my favorites.

Shoot me if I don't want to see a muscrat get fed to a snake and a turtle decapitated.

I'm hear you. But look at what you're watching. I'd take ten turtles getting their heads cut off over the fake ween tore off scenes any day.

reply

I guess you wouldn't do well watching actual nature programs either, ones that show lions devouring gazelle or army ants stripping small animals to the bone...?
So what, if these Italian directors liked showing a little turtle soup being made in CH (or CF), so what?
And so what if they show an anaconda strangling a monkey - it happens every day in the jungle! Nature is fierce, son! So get a grip, watch it with half your eyes closed if you have to, but man up for once and don't expect them to re-mix a PC 'PETA-approved'/"No animal was harmed during the filming of this movie" version of Cannibal Ferox! LMAO!! If it disturbs you, don't view it.
Even the dude on Bizarre Foods would help some natives kill, cook & eat a turtle (turtle soup!) - or a bat for that matter! I've seen this on the FOOD NETWORK! Toughen up!

"The Film which you are about to see is an account of a tragedy that befell a group of 5 youths.."

In nnature program, it's not stage. You don't see some critter tied to a pole with no chance of escape while sick *beep* film the whole deal to make a buck. Besides, hey, people die every day, so let's torture and kill a few on camera ! I'm pretty sure you'd get your jollies out of it…

why do people hate "Hostel" so much? I found it to be quite a dark and brutal film, and didn't find it very 'hollywood' at all, and I hate Hollywood. I'm not so much into the cannibal genre, but i can appreciate it. My thing is the Japan "pink" films of the 1970's, of which i am fairly obssessed. "Hostel" reminded me a bit of films such as "Beautiful Girl hunter" with it's ideas of kidnapping and torturing for pleasure, and the warehouse scenes were very nicely filmed. now i do hate the "Saw" series. Those films are gimmicks with silly ideas, and although they are violent, they are still somehow more commercial than "Hostel," which is I think, a cut above everything else made recently. At least it isn't a goddamn remake of a classic, you have to give it credit for that...

reply

I'll grant that Hostel Pt. 2 is a fantastic movie, and one of the most improved sequels of all time, but the first film is wretched. It's incredibly poorly paced; it takes something like 45 minutes before it's even clear that you're watching a horror film.

reply

There is a reason that it takes so long to get to the horror elements. The idea is to take the viewer completely off guard, before slamming the audience with something they don't expect. It's a brilliant concept and works well. I thought the pacing of Hostel was very 'European,' which isn't surprising when you consider Roth's inspirations. It seems like young American audiences need instant gratification when watching a movie, and that is sad.

Daedalus1337, you're the pathetic one. You get off on seeing animals getting killed. Why don't you get a box of tissue, some baby oil, pop in your worn out Faces of Death video and have yourself a ball! You sick MFer!

Most animals are better than a lot of humans.

reply

i agree with you......animals cant defend themselves when humans come along and start chopping their heads off and shoot them. and why put it in a movie anyways. its sick...i wud rather watch 10 humans get slaughtered than watch 8 defensless animals get slaughtered....al for the simple fact. i human can make decisions...an animal cant.

reply

Yeah, it's unfortunate that they've killed animal to make these exploitation films but in others they have been used for greater purposes than to provide some stiffies for a couple sick *beep*

However you scare me more than anyone getting off on animals being killed for some movie. It's fairly obvious you have little disregard for human life with your statements and fall in with those PETA clowns.

It's disgusting, really.

reply

Actualy only a few seconds were cut by the BBFC, the not missed by anybody budget DVD company Vipco cut around 6 minutes themselves becasuse they thought the BBFC would cut it anyway. So blame Vipco for not having the balls to submit it uncut.

Yeah i gotta agree, ive seen allot of early 80's horror (beyond, Phenomena, New York Ripper, Pieces, Zombie ect). I have decided not to see this one. The good thing about these sort of films is that they are all make believe. none of the actual actors die in real life. But animals being killed on camera to make money is pretty sick.

Anyways it was either this movie i bought or Rapid Grannies soooo

Bring on the Grannies

reply

arnez pretty much summed up my belief in this matter as well. Anyone defending someone who kills an innocent creature for their own pleasure or entertainment purposes is one sick puppy. It's no wonder there is so much suffering in this world if someone can't even feel compassion for an innocent animal.

reply

So no one has even answred the question. Is there an animal cruelty free version?

I bought Cannibal Holocaust, and I've seen both, the first viewing I saw the uncut version, but I enjoy watching the film more than once, and I don't like to see animals get butchered in real life. Call me what you want, it still won't change my opinion. So do they give you both options?

reply

Animals kill humans too

reply

really? damn I must have been living under a rock! Animals kill people! wow! is there a point to that?

reply

To the original poster: Consider yourself lucky you being able to view the full version & then having the option if you wanted to of looking away when the animal violence occurs, In the UK that decicion has already been made for us by the same bastards that decided we werent grown up enough for the likes of Grotesque & Manhunt 2 but as if it werent bad enough removing the (admitidley upsetting) animal violence (This coming from someone who hates PETA with a vengeance btw) but from what Ive heard pretty much all violent content in the UK DVD has been cut, I myself know someone who tracked down the complete version on a VHS tape & for all the blooshed (real or not) it makes the film an incredibly unsettling experiance that Ive never since experianced in a horror film, Mission accomplished Umberto Lenzi.

"Yes Trevor call Mr Jolly, Everyone loves Mr Jolly, Mr Jolly will make everything alright Mr Jolly!"

reply

"Animals kill humans too"

Yeah, well, that's because they usually have a reason, such as dumb humans walking on to their territory or defending their family. Animals don't kill humans for fun or out of boredom, which can't be said for some sick people.

reply

Have you never seen a cat torture a mouse to death? Some animals would kill people for fun if they had the opportunity.

reply

Animals kill humans too

But animals don't do it for money.

Have you never seen a cat torture a mouse to death?

Domesticated cats do that because they've never been taught how to kill a mouse swiftly and efficiently.

reply

totally agree with you, no need to kill to make a movie

There is not an animal cruelty free version that I know of :( but I will say that the animal killings in Cannbal Ferox are not nearly as disturbing as Cannibal Holocaust, I couldn't tell you why... But while I was extremely repulsed at all the real killings in CH I feel like only a few in CF really got under my skin. The other good part is, unlike CH, none of the animal deaths seem to sneak up on you. You can see them coming from a mile away so you have plenty of time to turn away. I remember the first time I watched Cannibal Holocaust and the monkey death sort of caught me off guard... I will never get that image out of my head, one of the most disturbing things I have seen.

reply

Why would anyone even WANT an "animal cruelty free dvd"? It wouldn't be the same film. It wouldn't be what the director wanted you to see. And if you don't wanna watch what the director had in mind, well, then maybe this film just isn't for you! Don't like it - DON'T WATCH IT! Easy as that...

And, no, animals getting killed doesn't turn me on or amuse me or whatever the *beep* some people here seem to think. But that IS what happens in the jungle and other "uncivilized" places. Animals eat other animals to survive, humans eat animals to survive, and that would sure as hell had happened if there was a camera or not! Why dontcha try to ban EVERY SINGLE wildlife documentary? Get over yourselves! Jesus *beep* christ!

reply

But you do understand the fundamental difference in simply letting nature take its course and setting a death up or out and out killing an animal for the sole purpose of entertaining or shocking people, right?

reply

What kind of pussy are you? You want to watch the movie but pretend it didn't happen?

reply

Just skip the scences?
