Humungus, Bane and Hardy

I just watched recently "The dark knight rises" and couldn´t help noticing the similarity between Bane and Humungus; both wear a mask, are bald and very muscular, and make freuquent use of a micropohone. Their discourse is also very similar; both talk of themselves as being fair and present themselves as being the solution instead of the problem.

Curiously enough, Bane was played by Tom Hardy, who happens also to play Mad Max in Fury Road-which I haven´t seen-. I wonder if that´s all mere coincidence or whether there is a connection there.
