Question about a gruesome bit

The night after Max brings the rig back to the compound, Humungus' mob takes out their rage on their prisoners. The images are dark, sometimes indistinct, and constantly fading/cutting from one shot to the next.

At one point, Bearclaw Mohawk is standing in front of a prisoner who is hanging on an X-shaped cross. Bearclaw is holding his hand up, palm-first towards the camera, and there's something...wet and sticky in it.

Might be a heart, might be a tongue...does anybody with a really big HD screen feel up to frame-by-framing that scene, to satisfy my morbid curiosity?

I thought it was just clawed flesh, looked like prisoner had claw marks, see no difference on bluray

In the U.S., the rape scene would probably get it an NC-17 (though I'm not sure I understand that rating, entirely). Blood and gore don't matter to the MPAA.
