Soundtrack

Does anybody know if the entire soundtrack was written specifically for this movie? I swear I've been hearing pieces of it as background music on a TV documentary series about WWII.

I believe Brian May did compose it for this film, but that's interesting i could be wrong. How old is the WWII doco?

Most of them date from the mid-90s to early 2000s; I watch so many of that type of program, though, that I'm not sure which one of them I thought I heard it on.

The parts that sounded familiar were some of the more poignant chords in the movie, like then the Feral Kid watches Max drive away from the refinery, when Max sees the Warrior Woman and the mechanic get pulled off the tanker, and when Max pulls the Feral Kid into the rig during the final chase.

I still DVR all these docos, and now I'm paying attention to the music. Hopefully, I'll be able to come up with a show title, soon.

I did finally run across the music again; it was on a series called 'Battle 360,' about the U.S.S. Enterprise. There's only one music credit for the series, and it isn't Brian May.

The background music utilizes some trumpet calls that seem to be identical to some of the trumpet calls in 'The Road Warrior,' though. The 'B360' composer might have been inspired by Brian May's work, or maybe it's sheer coinkidink.

That is an interesting coincidence! Awesome scoring to, because the music in MM2 is superb.

I was always after my high school band director to let us play the chase theme; that bombastic track is a tuba player's dream.

It was composed specifically for this movie, but may have been licensed to be used on other projects since that time.
