Watching this film, I kept trying to figure out where i'd seen Moustache Man before, then it came to me, he's the spitting image of Ron Burgundy from Anchorman! Surely Will Ferrell saw this film beforehand and based the look of Ron on him?

Well, that actor was in a love of movies and TV shows during the early 80's, with that exact same look. He was in my favorite Hart To Hart episode. So it's possible Ferrell saw in any of a number of places.
I came here just to see if anyone else thought that!

LOL I finally watched this again after all these years (the last time I saw it was pre-Will Ferrell ANYTHING)... flash forward 13 years later and hello, I was totally convinced Will Ferrell had fashioned himself off this guy!!
