Apparently Johnny Depp has agreed to play Tonto in the new movie.

Depp ain't even native....I hate it when hollywood does that. Sorta like the italian mexicans in spaghetti westerns

The Italians used to play Indians a lot in old westerns too. But who cares? You hate this situation but would you hate it when a non white plays a white character? You would probably think that's okay cause it's PC.

Look at Depp's bio page here, about halfway down; the following statement is there:

"He has said in interviews that he is of Cherokee, Irish, and German descent, with some Navajo as well. Asked the origin of his last name by James Lipton on Inside the Actors Studio, Johnny Depp said his name means "idiot" in German."
