If I could choose a director for a new version

Okay, so I'm in the middle of reading "Lady Chatterley's Lover", and I'm really loving it. I'd love to see a movie version of it, though this one has only 332 votes, which means that it'll probably be very hard to find anywhere. What would be absolutely perfect is if a new adaptation was made and Alfonso Cuaron directed. I think he'd be perfect for this movie, because he's a very poetic director, and D.H. Lawrence was a very poetic writer. And Alfonso Cuaron wouldn't be scared to make it very graphic, because his "Y Tu Mama Tambien" was released unrated in the USA. That is my dream.

Why don't you take a look at the mini-series directed by Ken Russell starring Joely Richardson and Sean Bean (1992).

Okay, I've finished "Lady Chatterley's Lover" a few days ago in Pre-Cal. I LOVED it! And, no, not because of the sex (which was itself quite titillating, and truly the best-written sex scenes ever). But the best part of this story was D.H. Lawrence's amazing writing style. There are very, very few books nowadays charged with such realistic emotion and such poetic beauty. Guys, THIS IS HOW EROTIC FICTION IS SUPPOSED TO BE WRITTEN!! Drop every single trashy romance novel that comes into the stores nowadays and read "Lady Chatterley's Lover"! You won't regret it. Incidentally, I have also started reading D.H. Lawrence's "The Rainbow", and am liking it very much.

Oh, but I probably won't end up seeing any of the Lady Chatterley movies. They look like they're poorly made, unpopular, and hard-to-obtain. It's okay. I'd probably be disappointed by the movie anyway. It would take a truly gifted director and cast to make a movie worthy of this book.

You will not be disappointed with the movie version. Get the version with Nicholas Clay and Sylvia Krystel made in 1981. You can get the dvd off of Amazon.com.
