It's their "on demand" DVR movies, but at least you can now get a legal, good quality version of this movie. It might be the only way we will ever see this on DVD.
is it in widescreen? how's the pic and sound quality? and do their DVRs come with normal DVD cases? That's all I need to know! Thanks!
shareYes they're in regular cases with inserts and the tops of the DVDs look absolutely the same as an original DVD. And in widescreen and quality is pretty good id say! (Considering lots of movies of that era are very "foggy" looking plus since it was originally planned as a 3d film but was released in 2d, there is some graininess on the screen due to their 3d shooting process back then of layering film) basically if remastered I'm sure it would be better but it's pretty good I'm satisfied :) hope that helps!

The picture quality is really good actually, as it looks to the be the HD version they played on Starz awhile back. There are no extras, but this is leap years beyond the VHS. It does come in a case and has DVD art. It is not in Widescreen, however. IF you love the movie there's no reason at all not to get this while you can. On. AMAZON.
The dvd definately IS in widescreen. I watched it last night. The quality is beautiful.
shareMy copy arrived from Amazon today. I'm watching it now... beautiful print! Sad to say there are no special features whatsoever, just the film... Perhaps if this little edition sells well enough Universal will give the film a proper release with a few extras, maybe even commentary by Lily and Jane!!! I'd also love to see some of the 3-D footage that was shot!!
I've waited so long for this film to arrive that I'm not going to complain about this less than stellar release. The picture is crystal clear and the sound is clear as well (mono).
