Yes indeed. Gary Robbins was on the set of 2001's Zombie Night. When he said he was in this one, I asked him about it but he couldn't recall much. He only said the director got a lot of crap from many people because it was filmed pretty dark and you can't get a good look at the monster.

I figure why spend money and effort on special effects, makeup etc if you're not going to show them on the screen? but hey thats just me

I think maybe the reason is that the makeup effects may not have been up to snuff, so they didn't show the thing until he was all burnt up from the fire. Then it wouldn't matter.

I had a very hard time getting a look of the monster. I saw his face for only a split second lol. He was one ugly mother that's for sure!
