New DVD has no 'unwatchable' dark scenes

For years HUMONGOUS (1982) was plagued by America's Embassy video-tape which had a horrible foul-up in the film-to-tape transfer. Certain sequences set at night, on the island after the 30 minute mark were completely black or "unwatchable."

I am pleased to say this was not a PRINT problem but a tape problem. The new DVD from Scorpio has no such dark scenes. You can see everything much better and not one scene is mired in complete blackness as many were on the Embassy tape.

It is also the un-cut print.

All that said you were not missing much, as the scenes that keep the monster off-screen are more effective then when we do see him.

It is a pretty strange movie, albeit the Scooby-Doo homage is kind of humorous and strangely hip.

Just got my dvd in the mail today. I have watched the extras and trailers so far and can't wait to watch the entire film.

Would you like to buy a monkey?
