Compare Mel Brooks' Spanish Inquisition . . .

. . . to Monty Python's.

Which one do you find more amusing?

(As opposed to the REAL Spanish Inquisition, which was one of the worst examples of man's inhumanity to man.)

reply

I was watching HotW last night and I asked myself the same question. Python's is better, but this one is pretty good too.

reply

They are both very different. Hard to compare but I am a fan.

Rebuild the WTC exactly as before and keep old movies accurate!

reply

Monty Python's was better.

reply

I wasn't expecting a question about the Spanish Inquisition...

reply

NOBODY expects a question about the Spanish Inquisition!

(Heh, heh.)

I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

reply

Monty Python's version is hilarious but in my opinion HotWP1 is better. It's one of my favorite musical comedy pieces in a film.

reply

As a comedy troupe, I prefer Monty Python just a wee bit more than Mel and his regular players. Not enormously, but a wee bit more. But Mel Brook's Spanish Inquisition is a masterpiece. He put way more effort and thought into it, and it's actually a better commentary on the Spanish Inquisition itself.

reply

I thought Mel's would have benefited by the addition of a comfy chair.
