Don Felder's '(Taken a Ride) Heavy Metal'

When I've first heard of Don Felder's "(Taken a Ride) Heavy Metal" I actually thought it was John Mellencamp who did this song.

John Mellencamp? Your kidding, right?

reply

I'm serious

reply

Ok. . Nothing personal. . . I just don't think they sounded that much alike. . .

reply

Don Felder is a genius.

"Madness in great ones must not unwatched go."

reply

yeah,he is. and to the OP it sounds NOTHING LIKE MELLANCAMP.

LOVE that song! And B-17 is one of my fav shorts in the film - very creepy!

reply

too bad Don Felder had to get kicked out of the Eagles due to Don Henley and Glenn Frey's greediness

reply

Just for the record, for awhile, I thought it was actually Don Henley, because I thought the vocal sounded like Henley and I knew it was one of the Eagles who did the song.

reply

Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit do perform backing vocals for "Heavy Metal (Takin' A Ride)"

reply

My favorite song from the movie

I bought the soundtrack for that song and was impressed with most of the other songs off of the album, especially Cheap Trick's "I Must Be Dreamin'", Grand Funk Railroad's "Queen Bee" and Sammy Hagar's "Heavy Metal" (I much prefer the soundtrack version over the album version).
