Happy Birthday, young lady! For me, you'll always be the star, the apple of our eyes - the brilliant Miss October.

Wherever you may be, whatever arguments occurred between us, however enormously different our backgrounds and outlooks may be, I want you to know that you were, far and away, my all-time favorite personality on this or any other board - and that is saying a lot indeed. I think of you even now, and wish you the happiest of birthdays.

Happy Birthday again, Miss October! I wouldn't miss your Heavy Metal party for the world, and besides...

1. Secretary is not my "native board" (in your own words). Those good folks are indeed brilliant posters, but far too scary for my taste - some of those lovely ladies would eat me alive.


2. It is my privilege and great pleasure, on this board where we first met and locked horns, to call you "young lady" and our "birthday girl", the apple of our eyes still.


For all of you uninitiated and more recent posters:

Miss October was, once upon a time, our "Our Star" and the apple of our eyes; the most brilliant, entertaining, thoughtful and provocative personality ever to grace this Board. For those of us who remember, she is terribly missed here - and even more so on the Secretary (2002) Board if possible!

Wherever in our country you may be, wishing you a happy birthday as always.
