'New' Ginger in the movies?

I haven't seen all the Gilligan's Island movies, but I noticed that on this one the actress who played Ginger in this movie is different from the regular actress who played her in the TV series? (Most of the other actors from the series played their own part in this movie).
Any way, I'm just curious about what happened to the actress who played Ginger on the TV series? why didn't she appear to play the part of Ginger in the movies?

I did read in one article years ago (like when the first reunion movie came out) that Tina Louise didn't WANT to do it, that she maintained it had damaged her career to ever play Ginger, so when she was asked to do the first reunion movie, she deliberately named a sum so high she knew they wouldn't offer her the job.

I have often wondered how the movies would have come out if she had gotten what she asked for and was forced to do it, but the budget wasn't that big.

I thought it was something like she didn't come back because she didn't have a big enough part. Or they didn't have it exactly the way she wanted it so she refused to come back to Gilligan's.

Tina Louise was very bitter about her experience on "Gilligan's Island" when it was first broadcast as a TV series. She felt that she was misled by creator Sherwood Scwhartz and believed that she was to be the star of the show, not appear as a smaller role in an ensemble cast. She blamed the show for type-casting her as Ginger Grant (Not an uncommon complaint among the GI cast)and keeping her from landing serious acting roles once the series ended. When the idea came about for the "Rescue from Gilligan's Island" tele-movie, Louise named a price much higher than the producers would be willing to spend as she did not want to be a part of the production.

I heard that Tina hated the show and then wanted too much money to appear in the movies. And that's why Judith Baldwin came in for the first two movies, but I'm not sure why she was replaced for this one. And why did they hire an actress who was in her thirties? For her looks? Come on, even hot actresses can age gracefully. They didn't have to keep making her younger.

From what I understand, Judith Baldwin did not reprise her role in the last Gilligans Island telepic because she was "working on another project" at the time of the filming. Can't say I as I disagree with your comment about the age appropriteness of the casting of Ginger in this film. She really stands out alongside the obviously much older castaways.

I'm talking about the new, new actress. Who played Ginger in this one, not Judith.

I realize that

Firstly, about Tina Louise saying she was typecast, then why was Bob Denver able to get roles such as Maynard Crabb and other roles. Jim Backus also has appeared in other shows as well.

Secondly, about Tina feeling that she was miseld about being the star of the show, Sherwood Schwartz said in an interview that he can't understand her complaint, because why did she think she would be the main star, when the show is called "GILLIGAN'S Island!". Shwartz said that the title of the show indicated who the main star would be.

No tina louise , that and waiting 10 years to do them is why these movies sucked!
