As a child this movie made 2nd place to INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS in how many nightmares it gave me, my own brother knowing this made a ceramic hand in art class at school just so he could put it on my bed and scare the hell out of me damn i was angry.
But you know what my father did to ease my fear? He said he has no worries about the hand attacking him, get this he said "I have 2 hands of my own so what do I have to worry about"?
If you are talking about the 1978 version of Body Snatchers, then I concur. It was an overwhelmingly depressing and oppressive experience. It was very effective.
shareI did have a nightmare the night after watching this movie (I watched some of it again just before bedtime with the commentary on). I think it's the image of Michael Caine (as Jon) screaming towards the end, just before being admitted to the hospital.
Wasn't the worst nightmare but it would qualify.

This movie and Peanut Butter Solution gave me nightmares as a kid.
I just remembered it when a friend said something about the movie Idle Hands. Out of nowhere I remember this. I'm watching now for the first time in over 20 years. God, no wonder I had nightmares lol
