WHY DID JOHN CARPENTER HATE HALLOWEEN II? (The Halloween Franchise Part 2)

Part 2 of the Halloween franchise retrospective. In 1984, John Carpenter publicly expressed his feelings on Director Rick Rosenthal’s 1981 sequel to his own classic movie, declaring it to be ‘An Abomination and a Horrible Movie.” Over the years, John Carpenter has never had any time for Halloween II, a movie generally regarded as one of the best movies in the franchise, and one of the best slashers of all time.

Therefore, we’re trying to answer the question: Why did John Carpenter dislike Halloween II? And does it still stand up as a sequel to one of the greatest horror movies of all time?

Because he's one of those old fashioned artists who liked doing new things each time, as opposed to recycling the old, over and over again.
