The whole red herring with Ben Tramer...

being mistaken for MM was hilariously ridiculous. He just happens to be dressed in a mechanics outfit along with a William Shatner mask dyed white and walking around with a stiff, MM like gait?

What, did this specific outfit happen to be popular in Haddonfield in 1981 for some reason?

This movie takes place in the same night as the original, so its set in 1978. The white mask could have been a very common mask. The mechanic coveralls aren't that crazy. BUT, the Myers- esque walk is pretty funny. Before Ben gets hit by the car you can see how fast he is walking that it couldn't have been Myers

Come on. It's nice that you're such a big fan and all, but this is indefensible.

He just happens to be wearing a mechanics outfit and white mask? That particular combination, by chance? What's he going as, certainly not MM? As you pointed out, it takes place the night of the murders. The public wouldn't have been aware of how MM dressed.

Here is the clip. Once Tramer starts walking with the candy bag its pretty obvious it isn't Myers. The yellow hair and he appears a lot shorter than Myers. The Sheriff knew all along it was just a kid, Loomis was just being stupid as usual.

I get a kick out of the cop that hit him saying, "he came out of nowhere". Uhh no he didn't, he casually walked halfway into the street, what the hell where you looking at?

Wasn't Tramer a teenager? 16 or 17? What the hell was he doing out trick or treating?

reply

How would the white mask be common?

reply

Its a white Halloween mask. Myers broke into a hardware store and stole one. There are probably a lot floating around out there.

reply

forgot that. OK

reply

haha I love how Ben Tramer's literally burning to death and Brackett keeps screaming at Loomis "IS IT HIM?!?!?" like it's so easy to identify someone when their face is literally burning away from a distance.

reply

Yeah, that whole scene is pretty absurd and comical. I love Traimer's MM like walk, too.

reply

Remember that kid at the elementary school who was grabbed by Michael? Maybe that was Ben Tramer's little brother and he told him about Michael and Ben decided to dress up like him lol

reply

Wasn't Ben Tramer the guy Laurie liked that Annie tried to set her up with?

Least now she won't have to be embarrassed!

reply

I think the funniest part is how after the police car hits him and crashes into that van they both explode! Seriously! Those vehicles wouldn't have exploded like that! I guess they felt they had to have an explosion to entertain people.

The awkward gait deal probably has to do with him being underage and publicly intoxicated while also trying to get away from the police, but I get what you mean.

reply

Yeah, I thought that as well. He's intoxicated, can't see well through the mask and a weird man with a gun is yelling at him and chasing him.

reply

Being really drunk doesn't give you a robotic, michael myers like walk.

reply

Being dressed like a creepy stalker and playing the part of one on Halloween could.

reply

How often have you been drunk?

reply

Please. I've been drunk and have seen plenty of drunk people ambulate.

It loosens you up, affects your balance. It doesn't make you move methodically and stiffly. If anything it has the opposite effect.

It's funny how some people will get so attached to a movie they love that they will defend the silliest shit, instead of just admitting it has some flaws.

reply

I don't know, I've stiffened up quite a bit on a few walks home from the bar...when a cop car goes by. lol

Reading this thread reminds me why I dislike Halloween II so much.
