Dark and mean.

This movie has a really mean-spirited tone and dark atmosphere.

reply

It was mean, dark and pretty scary
A good sequel for an all-time great horror movie

I actually think part 6 is the darkest and meanest of the bunch. It's certainly not my favorite, but it is pretty dark. I love Halloween 2!

reply

Just out of curiosity which is your favourite?

reply

Halloween 4, actually. What's yours?

reply

Lol, that's mine too.

reply

Awesome :)

reply

The nasty, cruel, and mean-spirited tone this movie has is what made me fall in love with it all those years ago.

reply

I haven’t seen Halloween ll in a long time unlike the original and Hallowed III. It’s like I’ve really forgotten about it but I will revisit it soon after all the recent post.

reply

Let us know how you felt about the movie after seeing it again! I'm a big fan, but I also accept it as the second half of the first movie instead of a sequel!

reply

Ok I have it on my list. I shall return.

reply

As a fan of the film, I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

reply

What do you mean by mean spirited?

reply

The razor blade scene and Ben Tramer's death.

reply

That put a definitive end to Laurie's plans for the prom.

reply

I read an amateur review on a defunct website years ago. The reviewer really nailed it when he said the whole movie just feels like DEATH.

reply

You don't know what Death is!

reply

That's the only thing that makes it watchable.

reply

There are only two things that make this film watchable, and both of them resided inside nurse Karen's blouse.

reply

Very true. I heard her talk about that scene. She was told it would be a closed set. She said the day they filmed it, there were more people on set than she'd ever seen before!

Hard to believe this is a continuation of the 1st movie for as mean spirited and dark as it was, not to mention a Hospital with no patients or lights on..

reply

Yes and that’s why I love it and still watch it every time it comes one.. Halloween 1 and 2 just have a creepy dark tone that simply cannot be captured past the year 1985-86.. the new Halloween trilogy didn’t come close to matching the first two Halloween movies
