Just bought tickets to catch both of these flicks tonight at the Murat Theatre in Indianapolis tonight. Seen the original on the big screen before but this is the first time I'll get to see II in a theatre. Just thought I'd share in case anyone here hails from the area and may have missed this...
I wish I had more hands, so I could give those titties... FOUR THUMBS DOWN!
You're lucky, I wish they would show them at one of the theaters around here. They are going to have a Nightmare in Elm Street triple feature (with the first three films) that I'm planning on going to but a Halloween movie would be more appropriate for October.
I love seeing movies I've long admired and seen numerous times on DVD, on the big screen. Adds like another dimension or something. Thus far I've seen:
The Lion King Titanic Psycho Halloween Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade And most recently, Young Frankenstein all on the big screen after watching them for years on tv, tape and DVD. It was even better at the movie theater.
Movie Theater: Young Frankenstein 10/10. RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time.
I've seen Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter and The Goonies, but that's about it. They were actually showing Psycho at the local drive-in today but I already had prior engagements.
Another fun double feature is Creepshow 1 and 2 - although probably even harder to find than HI and HII double
About 10 years ago there was a theater attached to a dying mall (the kind with brick everywhere and the ultra blue water fountains in the middle of the walkway) that had a Romero weekend - I didn't see the Night/Dawn/Day - that would have been great - the Creepshow double was quite fun though
It's not nearly as good as the first, but I still recommend it mostly for the second segment entitled "The Raft". It's worth the price of the whole movie just for that one story.
