Emergency lights in hospital

Don't think I'm lame, but one of the best props in this movie that gives it that 70s feel is the emergency lights in the hospital hallways. Emergency lights today are small and just tiny LED bug eye lights. But I can remember back in the 70s they were huge fixtures that actually used car batteries and had big glass light bulbs and buttons and gauges on the fixuters, again just like in the movie. The lights really made for a creepy effect...instead of the bright white flourecent hospital lights, it was a dull and dim warm white light.

Does anyone know if these emergency light fixtures were real and they just killed power to the hospital, or were they props?

having witnessed the change from "back in the day" lights to the annoyingly bright bright white LEDs of today, I always made a concerted effort to get the 40watt, warm-white energy bulbs throughout my house

if you go into my family room, sure it has a main ceiling light fan on one side (warm white) and track lighting (warm white) but it also has about 4 small to mid sized lamps

when you're relaxing in my house, you go into dim mode with some nice warm lower mood lighting - lamps only

it is perfect for horror movie viewing . . .as well as . . .ahem . . .other recreational activities

if i want more light, i open up the window shades or the bay windows - I detest the bright LEDs - it really bothers my wife and I

her parents and mine call our house the cave . . .but we're much more relaxed and no less productive / successful and happier than they

40 watts is too low, Dr. 60 at least. I prefer 75-100 watts myself.

Movie Theater: Young Frankenstein 10/10. RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time.
