Laurie's Looks

I have never found Jamie Lee Curtis beautiful, but do think she has a unique look and is attractive.
In the original Halloween she is very plain, IMO. But think that was how her character was portrayed (supposed to be plain and boring).
But in Halloween II, know she is traumatized, but she looks much prettier to me.
Anyone else think this?

I don't know. I've always found her attractive.

In the film a raving beauty

Some people age better and some don't. It's all a matter of personal opinion and appeal, honestly. For me, for instance, Michaelle Williams has improved from her Dawson's Creek H20 days. Jennifer Garner has aged fine. Hell, JLC looked great in Trading Places if you catch my drift.

So it's all about what you see, what attracts you and what you like. I like "plain janes" myself and really cringe at the heavy make up women think they need to wear, even in movies. Oh and Kate Beckinsale, definitely better with age.

Yeah. I wonder why she's always had short hair? Since Halloween, anyway.

I can understand why she did it, though, for a part, to separate herself from "Laurie", etc. Her first movie out of the gate was a colossal hit. In order not to be considered Laurie Strode in every movie after, she had to change something.
Same could be said of her mother, Janet Leigh, who was most notably known as Marion Crane in Psycho.

I really liked her hair shorter in "Perfect" - and if you haven't seen that one yet, she (Jamie Lee) is an absolute sexpot in it.

Who would you rather have on top of your automobile - Tawny Kitaen or Julie Carmen?

Trading Places isn't bad either.

One of the few women who I like with short hair like that.

She had to wear a wig in Halloween II since it was made later and she had changed her hairstyle in real life.

I didn't think that wig looked very good though.

reply

For the first movie she had to straighten her hair so much that it actually permanently ruined her hair. That's why she's always had short hair in real life ever since. She wore a wig for this movie.

Along with the wig, by the time the sequel rolled around, she was a legit star. She did 3 movies in between the Halloweens, and had become known. Its possible she was able to have a little bit of work done during that time. Not to mention that the budget for the 2nd movie was much bigger than the first. So they probably had much better hair and makeup people on set.

I found her attractive in this and the first movie. But in the movie True Lies, which was the first movie I saw with her (I was born in 1986), I didn't think she looked that attractive. I guess as the other guy in the topic said some people age better than others.

The wig in this movie doesn't do her any favours- it's terrible!
