Did Jimmy Die ???

I Remember Seeing It Once Where At The End He Was In The Ambulance With Her, But The Last Few Times I've Watched It They Didn't Mention Him ...

reply

Jimmy in the ambulance was in the TV cut version. I think he survived the ordeal nonetheless

Thanks :)

Depends on if you count Halloween 4 as the next installment, or H20. In one version of part 4, when Jamie's in the closet looking at the photos, they show a picture of Jimmy & Laurie together, before an article about them being killed in a plane crash, implying that Jimmy is Jamie's father. He never goes back inside, so I'd assume they found him in the car eventually with nothing more than a concussion in the alternate version. In H20, they never establish who Laurie married, skipping over 4 on.

reply

I thought I read somewhere that the picture of the guy was not Jimmy, but someone that Laurie had met after she left Haddonfield and changed her identity?

reply

I personally don't think Jimmy became a chain smoking methadone addict after H2, but I could be wrong. I agree it was someone else she met after she moved to California. After all, there was a 3 year gap between when she left and when John was born.

"He came home." - Dr. Sam Loomis from the original HalloweeN

reply

No, he did not. Whether he's Jamie's father or not, he's alive and well.

I think it depends on which version you watch. I don't know the difference in what version is what, or if it's just editing, but there are two photos. In one, Laurie & Jimmy are shown & it's definitely Lance Guest. In another, that photo is skipped over & Jamie is shown sitting on the shoulders of her father, which is not Jimmy. Both then show the article about Laurie being killed. I know they were going to bring it up in H20 that Laurie had a daughter, but they cut the scene, preferring to skip over 4-6. Which was probably a good call

reply

Jimmy not only survived but he went on to battle another soulless killer in "Jaws The Revenge".

reply

I liked him with a beard in that.

Is there some extended version of Halloween II out there that shows what happens over the next few hours after Myers was stopped? If there isn't there's no way you can state that as fact.

reply

Natasha Richards had a very minor spill and seemed to be perfectly fine only to later die.

Wasn't that Liam Neeson's wife?

reply

Yes, she was on the bunny trail and she fell. An ambulance was called but she refused medical help and laughed the entire incident off. She walked back to her hotel room and a few hours later called the place back as she had a bad headache. She was picked up and was vomiting and showing signs of confusion. The hospital she was taken to was not equipped to help a person in her condition and by the time she was transferred it was too late and she was brain dead. She was kept alive on life support until her husband arrived and she was transferred to a New York hospital so people could say there goodbyes. She was taken off life-support a few days later.

Really? Interesting.

you fellas have me royally depressed! Liam is one helluva actor and from the sounds of it, an even better human being

Now I want Liam narrating the Halloween II novelization - can you imagine? I can!

Who would you rather have on top of your automobile - Tawny Kitaen or Julie Carmen?

reply

He was okay in the A-Team movie.

reply

To clarify. No jimmy does not die. Hes shown in the alternate tv cut to be awoken in the ambulance. Just injured

reply

Even without that, I never thought he was dead.

RIP Gene Wilder. RIP Robert Vaughn. RIP Carrie Fisher. RIP William Christopher. 2016 is the worst!

reply

That was a cut scene used for tv. They did that to draw out the run time. Otherwise his fate is left unknown.

At the end of this film, Deputy Hunt talks to one of his Deputies about how many bodies were found inside the hospital, and the Deputy said 10 so far. This is back when the film was intended to conclude the Michael Myers storyline, so Garret, Alves, Budd, Karen, Mixter, Janet, Jill, The Marshall, Loomis, and Michael are the 10 that come to mind.

However, Halloween 4 retcons Halloween II by having Michael and Loomis survive the explosion. Let's assume Michael was still technically "dead" by this point, and his body is trying to regenerate itself as he tends to do in these films, so he's included in the count as well. He's included until someone finds him to be ONLY comatose, so that makes 9/10 victims. Loomis survived the explosion, so that means one more person had to have died at the hospital, and Jimmy technically wasn't shown to have lived in that version. So I say Jimmy died, unless either a) the Deputy somehow miscounted by 1 and/or 2, b) the explosion killed one of the patients in the hospital, if there were any other ones, OR c) Michael killed one of the patients, staff or some random citizen of Haddonfield off-screen IN the hospital for no reason.

Halloween H20 ignores Halloweens 4 through 6, and according to THAT film, Loomis died a few years before the events of H20. So even in THAT timeline, Loomis survived the explosion somehow, and clearly, as did Michael, for his body was never recovered, and he had been missing for 20 years. Assuming Michael's "corpse" was counted in the count of 10 before he regenerated and walked away, Jimmy can still fill the gap here.

reply

I say Jimmy died. I only say this because I prefer the theatrical cut to the TV cut, but still, in my mind, despite knowing the scene where he lives at the end well, the final version is that he died.
