Actually thats not pottery

I watched this film shortly after it was released years ago and was impressed by how it was able to hold my interest despite the lack of dialogue. Then it disappeared for many years. I finally got to watch it again yesterday. Several people have said that one of the films inaccuracies was the use of pottery at that time period. Watching it a second time and paying attention to the abandoned hut and the later village scene I realized we are looking at Gourds. The one in the hut is decorated but the thin shell at the neck gives it away. The "Milk scene" in the village is still, although huge, a Gourd. You can even see part of the neck still left since it was cut from top to bottom. I enjoyed this movie the first and second time I watched it and still think it is the best "prehistoric man" depiction so far. My wife never having seen it felt the same. HEE hee Perhaps she was relieved there was no dinosaur scene.
