Best Horror movie ever

Best atmospheric, spooky, eerie...that huge cannibal with his horrific face....wuuaauuu

reply

Definitely has potential, but some things were a bit stupid. For example, does he normally swim around in deep water? Also, did anyone else notice that fake head? I'm sorry but after that I had a difficult time taking this movie seriously.

reply

The fake-looking head in the bucket was awful, even for a low budget movie.

THAT part was actually REAL, you dumbasses!

Well it's my own opinion. It impressed me very much when I rent it on video in the early eighties, when I was was only 12. Since then I've never forgotten it.
That zombie/man-cannibal has been scaring me much more than other figures on horror cinema. CLASSIC!!

Dude , let those morons say whatever they want . Probably they´re all teenagers of the new unsatisfied generation , who grew up with Pokemon and stuff. Sure , You can´t compare it with the latest movies at all .
I just totally agree with You . Cause I was 12 either , when I saw it . Had a sick friend , who forced me to see it in the dark on full blast and on 8mm. Since that day I got traumatized and killed a lot of pets :P
Have seen it again lately and couldn´t see something shocking in it, but just as I´ve said , one had to see it as it came out ;)

..you killed a lot of pets?

Certainly not the best but it's up there with the best. Amazing and eerie synth soundtrack...decent gore...I was very impressed. Took me 5 years to track down a good copy and I thought it was worth the wait. Now if only Absurd was readily availble...

Anyone who thinks this is the best horror ever or even remotely close, is truly missing out on so many amazing horror movies made in the last 100 years.

reply

It ranks up there amongst the most boring horror films that I have seen. The acting was dreadful, the killer was pathetic, the gore was, well, where was it!

reply

Stupid plot, low budget, silly gore and pure Italian trash... Just the way I like it so much <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
...And by the way "The Cannibal" wasn't that huge. Just George Eastman with some kind of mask on him.
7/10

reply

Well, Luigi Montefiori (George Eastman) is 6,9". I think that is "huge" for an Italian :)

reply

I found this film to be quite creepy and disturbing. George Eastman was genuinely frightening as the vicious cannibal guy. Plus the hardcore nasty and unflinching splatter set pieces were truly revolting. Excellent morbid and spooky atmosphere, too.

I first saw this when I was a kid and it's something that's always stuck with me. Maybe not the best but a very important film in my horror film education and one that's VERY close to my heart along with The Beast In Heat, The House On The Edge Of The Park and The Burning. My original video will stay with me forever.
