More about the soundtrack music?

I just bought the DVD "Never Say Never Again", Sean Connery's last hurrah as James Bond. It started filming about two years after "Gregory's Girl". I was struck by how reminiscent its theme and soundtrack were to that of "Gregory's Girl". I'm sure the producers paid a fortune to Michel Legrande to compose the music for "Never Say Never Again. Colin Tully is listed as the music composer for "Gregory's Girl". His only other credit is for the music on another Bill Forsythe film, "That Sinking Feeling" which I have never seen. Is that music similar? I'm wondering if it was just the era of the early 1980's, or if I am imagining things?

I can't seem to find THAT SINKING FEELING on VHS or DVD. I taped NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN from Spike TV just to listen to the music. It does seem to have that same light-hearted "ting" to it, as GG. I think I remember seeing that musical style referred to as "wee" or "whee" here in the past. Interesting observation. I wonder if Michle LeGrand ever watched GG. Maybe it influenced his NSNA composition.
