the guy asks her out and instead he gets someone else,in real life he would be mad as hell,he got stood up.

That was the point of the girls' little game. By the end, he didn't care that it wasn't Dorothy, and was happy to be with Susan.

They were messing with him to see how much he would put up with. By the end the last girl knows she'll be able to walk all over him.

Wow. You people totally missed the point that Susan OBVIOUSLY liked Gregory from the beginning and Dorothy did the whole stand-up as a favour to her.

Indeed, Susan pretty much confirms it at the end of the movie (it is pretty subtle).
