TROMA VS LEGACY DVD

I love this film!! Got it on DVD via Troma. But is the Legacy DVD better?! I know its a VHS transfer, but is it brighter or clear than tne Troma release?

reply

I never seen the TROMA DVD but the LEGACY DVD is surprisingly good. Picture Quality is actually better than what i expected from an Cheapie DVD Company. Sound is so-so, you can hear the hissing sound, when the movie is quiet.

Is there any special features on the TROMA DVD ?

Introduction by Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman, an interview with Linnea Quigley, trailers for Troma films, and finally Troma promo reels. Also English subtitles.

I have the Legacy version and it appears to be the exact same transfer as the Troma release, even has the Troma logo at the beginning. I am from Canada so maybe Legacy is the Canadian distributor for Troma?

The Troma version says it is the "Director's Cut" but they are both 96 minutes long so I think "Director's Cut" is just a marketing ploy to imply you're getting additional gory footage never seen before.

Get the Vinegar Syndrome blu-ray/DVD that comes out next month (Sept 2014). I got an advance copy today from their table at a horror con. It's properly framed and looks better than either of the previous releases. New extras too (which I haven't checked out yet).

I street, go for the new blu ray, complete with interviews etc

reply

The blu ray version is definitly the one to get now.

And now the question is the 88 films blu ray or the Vinegar Syndrome one?
