Source to buy DVD/VHS

It will probably be a Region 4 DVD and a PAL VHS, but check out http://www.arovideo.co.nz/film.php?FilmID=2211

Or you could wait until it is available in NZ (later this year) when the zone problems will no longer be a problem :)

I wish it was available in region 1 NTSC. I have a region-free DVD but every time I buy a region 2 DVD it looks grainy on my bigscreen TV. I'm hoping that a US company puts out a version for those of us who live in the US and know of this gem of a film.

reply

thats probably because the US dont make their TVs NTSC AND PAL, where as over here, you can play US and UK dvds.

reply

No, it was because my DVD player was an old one. I got a new one and it now works fine. By the way, if you watch a PAL show on an NTSC TV it's not grainy - it rolls vertically because the number of lines is different. But most newer TVs in the US can recognise both PAL and NTSC formats. It's the DVD players that are usually the problem, as they impose a ridiculous software ban on reading PAL format. Fortunately ways to reprogram the DVD players can be found.
