Wow, thought I had imagined this movie.

I had a memory of a diver exploring a wreck at the bottom of the ocean, when he sees a flapper girl through one of the portholes. I think it was this movie.

Well, she is not a flapper, but it is the right movie. The ship sinks in 1939, and the girl was born around 1962. The song he hears is "Happy Days Are Here Again" (copyrighted in 1929) which may explain your thinking it had something to do with the "Roaring Twenties"

Yeah, I think they had air pockets initially, and quickly but just in time found ways to make new oxygen - or rather a whole biosystem. If I remember correctly, they were lucky with the cargo that way.

Didn't get to see the whole film and don't remember it as a really good one, but I'd love to see it again. There was a neat point on the society structures they built up down there.
This type of lesser known film is ideal for a download service.

Wow, thought I had imagined this movie.

Many people who have seen the whole thing WISH they had imagined it...

It's stupid fun though. The diving on the wreck and seeing the girl's face through the window is the stuff of shipwreck fanatics' dreams. It's very intriguing.

But when it gets into the whole mess of what's going on inside the ship, Frank Gorshin's ridiculous accent and scenery-chewing performance, and the uneven plot, it kind of falls apart.

That being said, I watch it when no one is around. It's a guilty pleasure.

"It's a guilty pleasure" Yes it is! I'm another one who thought I had imagined it, it might be cheesy but I enjoyed it.

Oh my goodness! THIS IS WHAT THEY INVENTED THE INTERNET FOR!!! I'd completely forgotten about this until I started reading these posts by accident. Wow! It was fabulous!

Similarly, a couple of years ago I accidently came across "Salvage 1" a film about a scrap dealer flying to the moon and recovering the Apollo LMs. I saw it last year and it's terrible. Sometimes, it's best to stick with the memories!

It's all very clear to me now. The whole thing. It's wonderful.

Wow Germanii, that is the only image from the movie I remembered! I was shocked it was a real movie.

I enjoyed this movie. It was a mini series. My then wife and I were into mini series and really enjoyed this one. Mark Harmon was at the beginning of his career which included a movie career for a few years. I would like to see it again and maybe netflix has it. I don't remember how they sustained themselves but it was a good movie.
