So much better than the book. One of my favorites for it's atmosphere, music, acting, storyline and effects. Extremely well done for the times. Will eventually become a classic!

I always love the scene at the beginning and the end of the movie where there is a shot, overlooking the town with snow coming down. Really sets the mood!

shareIt may be good for the early eighties (horror was frowned upon) but nowadays it looks dated.
Plot is obvious after 20-30 minutes.
It is still better than 98% of the horror crap of those days, but...
Great cast though!
A decent horror film for its time, but better than the book? Not even close.
