No bullet and bayonet only?


Why no bullet? Supposedly that's historically accurate, but why bullet? I don't get it.

They wanted them to keep running until they got to the next trench. If they don't have any bullets and they know they don't have any bullets, they won't stop and shoot but keep running.

Absolutely! They didn't want them squatting down in the middle of no man's land trying to shoot a hidden target. They wanted them to cover the ground and engage the enemy hand to hand in their trenches.🐭

That's what WW1 strategy was all about.

There wasn't a lot of imagination involved in their strategy and it was beyond them that the human body couldn't compete with machine guns. Not to mention it was mostly the lower classes they were sending to their deaths so it didn't matter to the General's.
