gut-wrenching

This film was excellent in its portrayal of war torn Beirut. The stark, bombed city cries for pity and relief from the maniacs of terrorism and intolerance. Ganz as the German journalist competing against his fellows for the best story, and finally his flight from himself and the effects of the war on his mental and physical being were played out brilliantly.

I saw it a long time ago, but I remember being mesmerized by it. This remains one of the better reviews of the film
