A lot of people would agree with you. It's tight, well-paced and certainly doesn't out-stay it's welcome. The fact that they used a location that looked so similar to the first is a plus too. I personally choose part 3 as my favourite sequel as I prefer the characters and over-all campy fun of it but I would never bad-mouth Part 2.

Agreed. It's my favorite of the series. The setting, characters, and I love the way they used psychology against Jason at the end, it's pretty unique for a low-budget early '80s slasher.

Not my favorite Jason, part 4, but it still works.
