It never made sense how he found Alice

She must have lived near the Crystal lake area for him to have gotten there on foot but how did he know where she lived.

reply

Him being able to find her like that and travel to her home doesn't really seem like something Jason can do, especially in later movies. What did he do, ask around town about her?

I think they were winging it without any long term vision of what Jason or these movies would become, so when they created that scene they didn't have a clear concept of who Jason was yet.

reply

The opening didn't bother me until way later in life.

reply

Jason asked for directions.

reply

The filmmakers probably didn't imagine a generation obsessed with literalism.

reply

In 1981 no one asked questions

reply

true.
it's just a BANG opening that doesn't need to make sense.

reply

She did say she had to get her life back together...Meaning she went back to Blairstown

reply

He used Mother's head and the blood of the other victims to do a locator spell, duh

reply

Magic. That's an interesting explanation. A lot of the things Jason does seem unreal.

reply

It doesn't make sense but it's still kind of cool. Though it really doesn't make sense how he was able to sneak in while she was asleep and put his mother's head in the fridge. Also a moral lesson. If you fear someone is going to kill you get a big dog. Not a cat.

reply

1981...He looked in a phone book.

Or maybe the camp had records of employee info.

reply

Can Jason read?

reply

Makes sense. That would actually explain how he located her.Still doesn't explain how he got to her.Jason doesn't drive and i don't see him traveling very far without drawing attention to that sack over his head.Unless she lived on or very near Crystal lake it doesn't seem at all likely he could get to her.

reply

She went back to Blairstown.

reply

I'm not sure he had the sack til later on. I thought for some reason he had stolen it from one of the new councilors.

reply

No, he acquired by sack on his own. Definitely didn't take it from the counsellors. If he had taken anything it would've been that rubber monster mask from the joker character, Ted.

I guess you have to remember when this sequel was made, Jason's character (or lack thereof) wasn't established. So it was plausible that he tracked Alice down by conducting some research via the camp records or phone book etc. It's even implied that he calls her on the phone just before killing her, which shows intelligence and scheming he never displays in the later sequels.

reply

Finally a plot hole has been discovered within the Friday the 13th movie universe. Good job

reply

I think his mother told him

reply

Alice never told the mother what her address was. Its a plot hole. It happens. To the credit of the Friday the 13th franchise, this is the only plot hole in the entire Friday the 13th movie catalog

reply

Telepathically from beyond the grave “Jason , mother is in Alice’s fridge , here are the directions! Kill her!!!”

reply

🤣🤣🤣

reply

You could be right. Thanks. I take back my plot hole for this film
