Did anybody else just LOVE the score

It is soooooo beautiful! It makes me feel so nostalgic. I especially love the music at the end when Copper stops Amos from shooting Tod, and they walk away from each other then look back and give each other this knowing smile. I wanna tear up every time.

I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior.

Yeah, I rewatched "Fox and the Hound" recently, and I think it has one of the BEST soundtracks in any given Disney movie!

As a kid I always liked the score to this movie. Having re-watched it again recently, the score seems kind of hit and miss now. In some parts the score is very good, such as the second chase scene where Chief is hit by the train, when Tod is dropped off in the woods and sees the other animals trying to find shelter, and in the opening scene as well. In some scenes the score doesn't add much to the movie, but it's not bad altogether since there are enough great moments to make it stand out and having a generally subtle score seemed like the right thing for this movie.

Does anybody know what the opening credits song is called? It is beautiful.

Agree.

What's strange is that the musical score never seems to have been released on any soundtrack. Not on YouTube, at least.
