To Cheese!

This was one of my mom's favorite movies.....She was a fan of Alan Alda's films.

Me and my sister like it very much too...When we toast we toast "to Cheese"...It makes us laugh.

Our mom passed away 14 years ago, so whenever we watch this movie it brings back fond memories of watching it with mom and remembering her laugh.

It has a great soundtrack too!

Thanks for the kind and thoughtful post....

Sadly I am without any close family but one younger sister.......My mom and dad died of cancer and my grandparents died from heart problems and my aunts & uncles died from strokes & cancer and my older sister died from diabetes... ( I am only in my 30's!)

because my family were film buffs, movies contain alot of fond memories for me...

Take care,

have a nice day!

I love this movie too, and also lost my mom to the big C. I always thought my friendships were going to turn out, maybe not like this movie, but close. I saw it when it came out and I was mid twenties. Now I'm ... well you do the math, and I guess I can say I'm an older than middle aged woman with dry skin and a good sense of humor. Life is pretty good. Hope it's good for you.

So many memorable lines in this film. Whenever I go out for Chinese food, I always think of Jack Weston's line:

"Newton, Isaac Newton. Inventor of Moo Shu pork."

Your mom had great taste in films.

"Long live the new flesh"

I don't know how I fist saw this film, but I know I was in my early teens in the early 1990 and loving it from the very fist time I watched it. This and Sweet Liberty are two of my favourite films of all time.

I always wished Alan Alda would write and direct more films. Very much love his what he does.

Victims; aren't we all?

Whenever I recall this film, this is always the line that first comes to mind. I've always loved it -- and the film in general.

It is always difficult to lose a loved one. I am glad you and your Sister have a special memory of your Mom and this movie.

Having read this thread, may I say: it's so nice to find a little corner of the IMDB boards where users actually wish each other well and express kind thoughts to each other. Makes me feel that I'm around adults, for a change. Most refreshing.
