Creepy a** slasher flick, but what's it called?

****Possible Spoilers***** (maybe)

I have been looking for the name of a movie for about 10 years now. All I can remember about the movie is that there is a group of kids going camping or something, there is a house out in the woods and there is a family who lives int he house and they aren't happy to find visitors around. The group of kids start getting offed one by one. The main girl, her boyfriend and I think one other are about to escape in a station wagon but are caught. (I think one of them is wounded) The main girl escapes this scene but returns to the house later where she encounters the "Mother" figure. The main girl is wondering about her boyfriend or brother or whomever he is, and the old woman or one of the psycho guys shows her a birdcage with a head in it.

I may actually have remembered the details wrong, but the main "scare" scene is this birdcage. I remember a station wagon at some point and a guy jumping all over it terrorizing the people inside. I remember a crazy "mother" figure who condones the killings. And I remember the birdcage scene.

It was suggested once to me that this could be American Gothic, and after finding a copy of it and watching it, I was sadly disapointed as AG was not the movie I am remembering.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
