One Memorable Scene (is it in this movie?)
Is there a scene in this where a guy eats magic mushrooms and
climbs a redwood tree with lumberjack equipment (spiked boots and
large belt to wrap around the tree)?

i definately remember them taking mushrooms and one guy climbing a tree, don't remember the tree-climbing equipment though...

Just watched it and yes. It's Zorich at the end of the movie. He used a giant chain to help him climb up the tree.

They were forest rangers, they went to clear the forest, so i'd imagine that they would have such equpment.

I just watched this again after... well nearly 15 years or so (first time I saw it on VHS), and while I don't remember where exactly he pull those off, they were back in the bus the scene before that and one of the guys mentions "all our stuff is (still) here", so I'll assume they picked that equipment from bus.
and yes, he does eat some "magic mushrooms" before finale and gets high. share
