saw in the theater when i was 27 (an hour ago) & I'm Still Confused....

Was the camping trip for fun? Or... did they work at a summer camp? Forest rangers? (there can't be that many in one area, no offense) I was just a little confused on how they ended up listening to that spooky tale.

Were all the females British/Australian? I guess I should do my own research and check into the actress' bios but...their accents altered here to there. (But that is neither, here NOR there, dear).

Also, wait, guys, WAIT. Where exactly were they rafting to? Did they hike that far away from their broke down bus to have to travel Oregon Trail style, caulk wagon and float back to bus?

No one asked the Indians for help. A bit weird.

On a serious note, were they officers>? What was with the badges? ***** This is my top question I have asked last. I am honestly confused as to their occupations and who exactly they all were.

VERY RECENT UPDATE: Thanks to Realm_Of_Sweet_Infinity I am aware that they were forest rangers, but which characters?

I think the guys were rangers "in training" and only Mark Metcalf and Joey Pants were actual rangers. The girls just went along for no reason it seemed. They were supposed to be clearing streams of debris but got lost. I agree they should've asked the Indians for help. 😁

The story takes place in the coastal Redwoods of extreme Northern California (near Crescent City, where it was shot). Once it's clear that they're under attack by some psycho and they need to escape the area, one of the male characters points out that it's only six miles to the ocean if they take the river whereas by road it would be a two-day hike of like 45 miles to get back.
