I love this movie.

I saw this when it was first broadcast on uk tv back in the 80's when i couldn't have been much older than about Ten. For some reason its still my favourite although i know its regarded as inferior with regards to the other films.
Bought the trilogy boxset a while back and this was the first disc i watched, and i wasn't disappointed at all after all this time. weird.

Not an important post, But i felt the need anyway. Go figure.

I never knew about and never saw any pilot for an omen series.

Oh no not another migrating soul type of thing. That was done with Fallen(which was a good movie). Off topic I know everyone hated Omen IV and they thought it wasn't a good continuation but it would have been a decent film if they simply changed a few things. Most importantly the film would be much better if most of the music was entirely redone. What the hell was up with having quirky cute music playing during supposedly scary scenes? Just look at the inappropriate playful sounding music happening at the psychic fair for example. That could have been a decent creepy scene with the proper music along with a lot of the other scenes. Also a lot of that movie would have made more sense if they had some other pertinent scenes. Probably a lot of the original film was chopped off. We should have known more about the nuns at the beginning and the mystery of Delia's birth and etc. It would have been interesting to see a scene of Kate Reynolds giving birth to Delia and dying in a bloody unholy mess. A lot of potential and so much waste. I thought this was only a made for tv movie but it was released in some countries. Why they didn't try at least a little harder(even with a limited budget) I'll never know.

Gordon McGill, who wrote the novelization for 'The Final Conflict', wrote two further novels continuing the story (Armageddon 2000 - Omen IV and Omen V - The Abomination).

These involved Kate Reynolds, the journalist from 'The Final Conflict', giving birth to Damien's son (a plot point I think they retained for 'Awakening', switching the gender to female). The story is set in the then future or 2000, when Damien's son is reaching maturity.

They were effective continuations of the story, certainly better than 'Omen IV - The Awakening'.
