Sigourney Weaver riding horseback?

Was that really Sigourney riding the horse, or did they use a body double?

Thanks for the details! I'm glad to learn that was really Sigourney. It certainly looked like her.

Sigourney did a little more than walking the horse -- she rode it at a modest gallup. It's certainly something that anyone can learn, but it would take a day or two of training.

I'm sorry to hear the stables have closed.

Thanks for the information. Yes, it's quite possible that Sigourney learned how to ride a horse in prep school. She certainly seems to do it well in this film.

Sigourney attended Ethel Walker School in Simsbury CT. From their website:
"Riding has been part of life at Walker’s since its founding in 1911. The social, emotional and character-based lessons that come from a passion for equestrian sports are consistent with our School’s history and mission, and our exceptional equestrian program sets Walker’s apart from its private school peers."

Her father was very wealthy, so it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility that she learned to ride when she was a deb.

Life is pain. Anyone who says differently is selling something.

Yes, that's quite possible. Horseback riding seems to be largely a pursuit of the wealthy. And "deb" doesn't get used enough for my tastes. ;-)
