Was this meant as some sort of dig on Margaret Thatcher?

I don't really know much about Ms. Thatcher other than that she was the prime minister of UK around this time and was rather unpopular in many circles. Do you think that the villain character's name derives from her?

I would certainly hope so, LOL, but he wasn't responsible for ruining as many lives as the insane Ms.Thatcher.

Well, Mr. Smith himself answered my question tonight at a public screening in Hollywood. I asked if Thatcher's name was "politically motivated" and he replied "ABSOLUTELY!" and went on to explain how the film was renamed BLOOD CAMP THATCHER on English Video (not the original title, which indeed was always intended to be TURKEY SHOOT) which caused it to become insanely popular all over again.

Wow, another filmmaker who is a left wing loon. And hearing this in "hollywood" (even though the filmmaker is not an American). What a surprise! ;)

It's a pretty dumb reference, about as pithy as a Facebook meme. But it's just another thing about the movie that makes it such dumb fun.

There should be a sequel in which the guy who runs the camp is named Trump.
