Fifties Fit Guy In Micky Dolenz Miller's Outpost Ads

Who was the bearded guy who appears throughout the tape, perhaps best known as the guy who suffers a Fifties Fit in the "Rock & Roll Hospital" sketch? I went to YouTube and saw Micky Dolenz' ads for Miller's Outpost circa 1976, and the Fifties Fit guy is one of the desert hillbillies transformed into a cool urbanite by Micky's mobile Miller's Outpost store.

The cameo is done by William Dear, credited on screen during the Television Parts as writer/ Man who caught another one!

Thank you.

Micky and Mike are in classic form of red double-button shirts, light blue pants, and slick wingtip boots.

MICKY
- Mike, this guy's in trouble!

Bill Dear and a lady are dancing like crazy to the instrumental track for No Time

MIKE
- You're right, Micky! If they keep dancing they'll explode from exhaustion! What will we do?

MICKY - There's only one thing that will stop him!

While Mike shuts off the music machine, Micky shoves Bill Dear and his girl into the Millers Outpost trailer; they open the door in Micky's face and emerge in '70s leisure suits while Mike reactivates the music machine with a slow disco instrumental

BILL DEAR
- Man, thanks, we were tiring out from all that great retro-50s rock 'n rolling'.

MIKE - We all need to remember, there's a time and place for everything.

With due respect to others answering your question, they're mistaken. The actor you asked about is named William "Bill" Martin. He is a multi-talented actor/writer/songwriter (just to name a few of his talents), who wrote 2 songs for The Monkees. He was a good friend of all "the guys", but hung out a lot with Nez. They made "Elephant Parts", "An Evening With Sir William Martin", as well as his 1985 TV show "Television Parts" together before going their separate ways. William Dear, who others inadvertantly named in this post, was the director of both of the aforementioned videos, as well as numerous major films, including Michael's "Timerider".
