I personally prefer Zombie. They are both great movies and are full of memerable gore scenes and zombies. Which do you prefer?
shareLove Zombi but I love The Beyond so much more. It's one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. The spider scene is wonderfully creepy. The effects are some of the best in Italian horror.

I found Zombie boring except the eyeball scene. Seven Doors of Death is much better.

I did sixty in five minutes once...
Zombie > City of the living Dead > The Beyond.
City had some seriously good horror direction in addition to the gore and general sense of unease. Not to mention, Christopher George was a real big plus as he added a level of class along with Catriona McColl looking stunning.
The Beyond was too loosely structured and less creepy though it's vision of hell was bafflingly brilliant. The gore looked a bit fake sometimes and there were several scenes which were unintentionally funny.
Zombie was fun and had way more action and thrills. Also, Fulci's most focused film. Al Cliver's character was a total badass.
